San Francisco, California USA - Feb 23rd, 2008 SEE THE VIDEO: CLICK HERE WHAT HAPPENED: It was a rainy day on Pier 39, but that didn't stop the gathering. approximately 125 YouTubers attended as well as YouTube's staff and the one of the co-creators of YouTube, Steve Chen. At 2pm, we all took a boat out on the bay thanks to the Blue and Gold Fleet by Pier 39. 75 YouTubers volunteered for the ride which took them under the Golden Gate Bridge and right next to Alcatraz. YouTube's staff then handed out shirts, then about 2 hours after, we all went back to our hotels and hung out with our new friends.
Hollywood, California USA - Jan 19th 2008 SEE THE VIDEO: CLICK HERE WHAT HAPPENED: The gathering took place in front of the Kodak Theater on the walk of fame. An estimated 110 people attended, even though the event was publicly announced in a video in less than 24 hours before. Improve comedian and actor Dave Foley made an appearance as well. There were many interesting attendees who showed off their talents for other YouTubers including a female juggler and a woman doing the "Charleston". TheFreakman came in an apeman costume and was welcomed by the usual Hollywood street performers. Renetto, who at the time was having a slight feud with Blunty3000, bumped into Blunty's girlfriend at the gathering as well. That was a very interesting conversation, but they seemed to find peace.
Melbourne, Victoria, Australia December 1st, 2007 SEE THE VIDEO: CLICK HERE WHAT HAPPENED: This event was hosted by AngryAussie, joined by Cory "Mr. Safety" Williams. The gathering had approximately 100 attendees and most of the day was spent sight seeing in groups. Due to a local concert, the videos posted online were cut short because of audio disturbance. The city was also infested with flies at the time of the gathering. YouTube provided shirts and Federation Square (the venue) provided a titan screen for looping YouTube videos to play on.
San Francisco, Ca USA - Feb 21st, 2007 SEE THE VIDEO: CLICK HERE WHAT HAPPENED: After experiencing the Hollywood gathering, Williams decided to organize another gathering in hopes to get more of YouTube's community involved. This time, the event attracted nearly 200 people from around the world including some of YouTube's most well known users. The video of the event was once again featured on the front page receiving over 600,000 views. The Pier 39 staff were impressed with the success of the gathering and have offered to help organize the next San Francisco gathering in 2008.
